You can find many great web sites devoted solely to Photoshop tutorials that walk you through the user interface and Photoshop’s many functions. Many of the sites have free versions. A few sites offer sections of their tutorials for free so you can view them without having to register.
If you’re having trouble using a feature in Photoshop, a Photoshop expert can help you overcome your problem; for additional help, check out the Book III Chapter 3 and the DVD that accompanies this book.
## Choosing software
In the following sections, I walk you through the Photoshop registration process to identify the version of Photoshop that you have installed on your computer and tell you where you can find downloaders and other useful software tools.
Photoshop will likely remain the leader for the foreseeable future, but Photoshop Elements is a great way to learn Photoshop and get a taste of its features without spending $2,400.
The following is a complete guide to Photoshop Elements.
Please feel free to check out the next section of our e-book for more information about Photoshop Elements.
Getting the Software
You can find Photoshop Elements for Windows, Mac, and Linux on Adobe’s official site. Make sure you are on the download page for the software you want.
For those coming from the Windows world, you may find that Photoshop Elements on Windows is not the same as the Mac version. You will need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for older versions of Photoshop Elements for this to work. You can do so from the link above or here.
It’s also worth noting that Photoshop Elements does not support the new version numbering scheme of new versions of Photoshop. Photoshop Elements versions 12, 14 and 16 do not match the version number of Photoshop versions of the same number.
The exact steps are as follows:
In a web browser, go to the Adobe Download Center page, which is here.
Scroll down to the link titled Compatible Pack for Windows and click on it.
Select “Download Installer: Windows only” (or your operating system) from the drop-down menu.
Press ‘Start download’.
Choose “Install now”.
After downloading, the Installer will launch. On the first screen, click ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’.
Finally, go to the link for the Adobe Creative Cloud, and you should get a message that your software has been installed.
Note: If you are unsure if you have the correct file, you can check here.
After installing the software, launching Photoshop Elements should launch in your default programs.
The last image you see in the welcome screen of the software may or may not be the correct one for the Operating System you are using.
You need to install the older versions if you use Windows.
While you don’t need to, it is generally recommended that you keep the default menu bar, but you can access the ‘Adobe Photoshop Elements’ menu by clicking the white hamburger icon at the top of the screen.
To change the place where Photoshop Elements saves, you’ll need to save your image first and then save your preferences under the “Preferences
1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates generally to computer systems and more particularly to a method and apparatus for providing electrical shielding for an AC power plug.
2. Description of the Related Art
In a typical AC outlet, AC mains voltages are input through a wall socket into an outlet receptacle. Each prong of the outlet receptacle has some electrical resistance. However, the prongs are typically spaced at a very short distance, providing only very little resistance. Therefore, the voltages applied to the prongs can vary at the outlet receptacle, causing one of the prongs to be at a higher voltage than another prong. For instance, a receptacle with two prongs will have a cathode on one side of the centerline and an anode on the other side of the centerline, with the centerline being between the cathode and the anode. In some plug configurations, a filter capacitor is coupled between the two prongs, removing the power (i.e., voltage) at the centerline. In such configurations, the centerline is the cathode and the ground is the anode. This leads to the potential for the centerline to have a lower voltage than the anode.
When different outlets are connected to a power source, this imbalance in voltages can cause a problem known as “mains voltage imbalance,” or “safety hazard.” Mains voltage imbalance results from the current flowing from cathode to anode in a vertical direction, opposite that of the flow of current in a horizontal direction. For instance, some plugs have a second “spacer” or “spark plug” prong that is connected to a ground. When the power is turned on, the ground and the power prong are at different voltages. The difference in voltages is manifested as a small spark that can start a fire. This effect is called ground shock. In order to reduce the chance of a fire and to create a more uniform mains voltage, mains voltage imbalance limits are commonly included in a new electrical receptacle. Mains voltage imbalance limits are intended to have voltage imbalances in the range of 500 milliVolts (mV) or less.
In the past, mains voltage imbalance limits have been incorporated into a new outlet by adding components to the electrical receptacle to effectively remove the imbalances. The added components can include a fuse, spark suppression, or an electronic phase control circuit. However
Lil’ Romeo loves his nieces and nephews. In fact, he has named them all in a song called “My Friends Like Crazy”. He sings:
Lil’ Romeo, Lil’ Romeo, He got 7 girls, 18 nieces and nephews. Whoo!
He loves playing with them and always thinks they are amazing. One day, little Demarco came to play and Romeo was so excited, he hid him in a shoe box. When Demarco wanted to play by himself, Romeo asked if he’d be okay with him going home. Demarco said, “sure, go ahead”. Little Demarco promptly fell asleep and he snored as Romeo sang, “My little Demarco, he snores when he sleeps, and sometimes he calls me when he cries…I should put some noise-canceling headphones on him! But, if I did that, he’d probably wake up and cry to me…”
Romeo was just so happy that he was so close to his nephew and loved playing with him. He didn’t see him go to bed. He thought he was keeping watch over him.
As Romeo took a stroll around the neighborhood the next morning, he began to realize that Demarco wasn’t in his box. He saw a note on the box that said, “I’m at the beach (and) I’ll see you soon”. As he read the note, he thought about how Demarco wouldn’t be back for a long time. He felt sad about it.
The next day, when Romeo saw, he noticed that Demarco was gone. He was very sad. Romeo went to look for Demarco at the beach and saw a note that said, “I’m very far away, but I’ll call you later”.
Meanwhile, he had a great time with his dad. They spent all day at the beach and during the day, his parents thought he went to the store to buy something. Little Romeo was really playing with his dad and his dad thought it was funny to watch them.
The next day, his mom saw that he was gone. She was worried. She went to the beach and saw a note that said, “I’m in the country and I’ll see you soon”.
Romeo was surprised and overjoyed to see his nephew. He wanted to call him, but he couldn’t find his phone…or his nephew…
